Since 2013, AIR has provided support to the Vermont K-12 MTSS State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG). This grant, funded by the federal Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), supports personnel preparations and professional development activities in the setting of Vermont’s MTSS framework. As part of the SPDG, AIR has partnered with Vermont to provide trainings and technical assistance activities, both on-site and virtual, to teachers and administrators on the practice and implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), as a Tier 1 instructional approach. UDL is an approach to curriculum development that promotes flexible learning environments and accommodations accounting for individual learning styles. AIR provides Vermont practitioners with a suite of UDL resources and tools that assist with UDL implementation at the classroom, school, and district levels. Our services include: on-site training and technical assistance, focused webinars, online modules for a virtual training experience, planning tools and activities for districts, and online collaborative communities.
